The story of an addict
December 20th, 2011I was once a person who was addicted to drugs and I could only give credit to my family for helping me pull away from the addiction. During that time, I did not really know that what I was doing was wrong and that I was hurting the people around me because of my addiction. I tricked, manipulated and even stole from them just so that I could get my fix. Fortunately, they did not give up on me and made me realize that I was throwing away my life because of the drugs. Drug addiction was eating away at my life and I was allowing it to happen.
Eventually, after the whole painful and lonely process of Drug Rehabs I had to go through and I was comfortable enough to discuss it with my family, they told me that they were as lost as I was. They did not know what to do with me to the point where they were even planning on giving up on me. The only thing that helped them push through was an internet site that gave them advice and support. They were professionals that even recommended the rehabilitation center where I went to.
I did not believe that information like that was available in the internet and I even checked it for myself. There was a lot of things I learned there and even recognized some of the things that my family used to help me. I was really happy that a site like this is up and running. I hope they help more people like me in the future
